Today, at the convention of the “Conseil International d’Études Francophones” which is taking place in Montreal, Roxana Verona from Dartmouth College, USA, presented a talk on Marthe Bibesco (Noailles’ cousin), “Les Orients de Marthe Bibesco” (Marthe Bibesco’s Orients), and Catherine Perry from the University of Notre Dame, USA, presented on Noailles, “Silence, elle parle: Anna de Noailles, femme ‘orientale’, entre Pierre Loti et Maurice Barrès” (Hush, She’s Speaking: Anna de Noailles, “Oriental” Woman, between Pierre Loti and Maurice Barrès).
